How is Zakat Calculated?

Zakat on qualifying wealth is commonly calculated at 2.5% when your eligible net wealth reaches the applicable Nisab threshold.

The calculator adds your cash, savings, gold and other Zakatable assets, subtracts eligible liabilities and compares the result with your selected Nisab.

Zakatable Wealth = Cash + Gold + Other Assets − Eligible Liabilities

If your Zakatable wealth reaches the selected Nisab:

Zakat = Zakatable Wealth × 2.5%

Frequently asked questions

How much Zakat is paid on gold? ▾

Gold is valued at today's 24K rate and adjusted for the purity you select. That value is added to your cash and other Zakatable assets. When the total reaches the Nisab you select, estimated Zakat is 2.5% of the full Zakatable wealth.

How do I calculate Zakat on cash? ▾

Enter cash in hand, bank balances and savings as one amount. The calculator adds that figure to your gold and any other assets, subtracts eligible liabilities, and applies 2.5% if the result reaches the selected Nisab.

How do I calculate Zakat on 22K gold? ▾

Enter the weight, choose Tola or Gram, and select 22K. The value is your weight in tola, multiplied by today's 24K rate per tola, then multiplied by 22/24. You do not enter a gold price.

Can I calculate Zakat on gold and cash together? ▾

Yes. Cash, gold and any other assets you add are combined before the Nisab check. Zakat, when due, is 2.5% of that combined Zakatable wealth.

What is Nisab? ▾

Nisab is the minimum qualifying wealth threshold associated with Zakat. This calculator works out a gold Nisab and a silver Nisab from the latest stored rates and the weights set in the site configuration. The two thresholds can differ.

What is today's Nisab value in Pakistan? ▾

Using the latest stored rates, the silver Nisab is Rs. 346,505.94 and the gold Nisab is Rs. 3,397,558.25. These amounts change when the gold or silver rate changes.

Is Zakat calculated at 2.5%? ▾

Yes. When Zakatable wealth reaches the selected Nisab, estimated Zakat is Zakatable wealth × 2.5%. The Nisab amount is not subtracted before the 2.5% is applied.

Can I enter gold in Tola? ▾

Yes. Tola is the default unit. You can switch any gold item to Gram. Grams are converted with the configured grams-per-tola value of 11.6638.

Does the calculator use today's gold rate? ▾

Yes. It uses the latest stored 24K gold rate of Rs. 453,000 per tola, updated 26 Sep 2026, 03:45 AM PKT. The silver Nisab uses the stored silver rate of Rs. 6,600 per tola.

What if my wealth is below Nisab? ▾

Estimated Zakat is Rs. 0. The result explains that your Zakatable wealth is below the selected Nisab threshold.
