About Surah Al-Waqi'ah
Surah Al-Waqi'ah (الواقعة) is the fifty-sixth chapter of the Holy Quran. Its name means “The Inevitable.” It is a Makki Surah consisting of 96 ayahs and is contained in the twenty-seventh Juz of the Quran.
Surah Al-Waqi'ah focuses on the inevitable Day of Resurrection and the different groups into which people will be divided.
The Surah describes the foremost believers, the people of the right, and the people of the left, explaining that their final conditions will reflect their faith and actions.
It gives vivid descriptions of the blessings of Paradise and the consequences faced by those who rejected the truth.
The Surah also asks people to reflect on human reproduction, crops, water, and fire as signs that Allah controls creation and provision.
These examples challenge the assumption that people are independent and remind them that even ordinary necessities depend upon Allah.
Surah Al-Waqi'ah concludes by emphasizing the greatness of the Quran and the certainty of death and final accountability.
