About Surah Al-Qiyamah
Surah Al-Qiyamah (القيامة) is the seventy-fifth chapter of the Holy Quran. Its name means “The Resurrection.” It is a Makki Surah consisting of 40 ayahs and is contained in the twenty-ninth Juz of the Quran.
Surah Al-Qiyamah focuses on resurrection, the self-reproaching soul, human accountability, and the certainty of returning to Allah.
The Surah rejects the idea that Allah cannot reconstruct the human body after death and states that even the fingertips can be restored.
It describes some of the fear and confusion of the Day of Judgment, when people will understand that there is no escape from accountability.
The Surah also refers to the preservation and recitation of revelation, reassuring the Prophet ﷺ regarding the Quran.
It warns against loving immediate worldly life while neglecting the Hereafter.
Surah Al-Qiyamah concludes by pointing to human creation as evidence that the One who created life initially is fully capable of raising the dead.
