About Surah-Al-Ahqaf
Surah Al-Ahqaf (الأحقاف) is the forty-sixth chapter of the Holy Quran. Its name means “The Sand Dunes.” It is a Makki Surah consisting of 35 ayahs and is contained in the twenty-sixth Juz of the Quran.
Surah Al-Ahqaf focuses on Tawheed, revelation, respect for parents, the example of earlier nations, and patience in calling toward truth.
The Surah refers to the people of 'Ad, who lived in the region of Al-Ahqaf and rejected Prophet Hud, peace be upon him, despite repeated warnings.
Their story demonstrates that strength and advanced settlement cannot protect a community that persists in arrogance and wrongdoing.
The Surah includes a powerful passage about kindness to parents and the gratitude of a mature believer who asks Allah to enable him to appreciate His blessings.
It also describes a group of jinn who listened to the Quran, recognized its truth, and returned to warn their people.
Surah Al-Ahqaf encourages Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and the believers to remain patient, following the example of earlier messengers who endured rejection with steadfastness.
