About Surah Ad-Duha
Surah Ad-Duha (الضحى) is the ninety-third chapter of the Holy Quran. Its name means “The Morning Hours.” It is a Makki Surah consisting of 11 ayahs and is contained in the thirtieth Juz of the Quran.
Surah Ad-Duha reassures Prophet Muhammad ﷺ during a period in which revelation had temporarily paused and opponents used the silence to mock him.
The Surah declares that Allah had not abandoned or rejected His Messenger and promises that what lies ahead will be better.
It reminds the Prophet ﷺ of earlier blessings, including protection as an orphan, guidance, and support during need.
These personal reminders become the basis for social responsibilities toward others.
The Surah instructs believers not to mistreat orphans, not to repel those who ask for help, and to speak about the blessings of Allah with gratitude.
Surah Ad-Duha offers hope during periods of silence or difficulty and connects gratitude for personal blessings with compassion for vulnerable people.
