Question 1

Where is the official matric or intermediate result?

Accepted Answer

The board that conducted the examination publishes the result on its own website. This page identifies that board from the roll number slip and opens its result page. The marks, grade and pass or fail status on the board page are the official result.

Question 2

What is matric and what is intermediate?

Accepted Answer

Matric is the Secondary School Certificate, also called SSC. It covers class 9 and class 10. Intermediate is the Higher Secondary School Certificate, also called HSSC. It covers class 11 and class 12. Class 9 and class 11 are Part I. Class 10 and class 12 are Part II.

Question 3

What do I need to check a result by roll number?

Accepted Answer

You need the board named on the roll number slip, the examination (matric or intermediate), the year, whether it is the annual or the supplementary sitting, and the roll number. Enter the roll number exactly as printed, using digits only.

Question 4

What is the difference between an annual result and a supplementary result?

Accepted Answer

The annual examination is the main sitting of the year. Boards also call it the first annual examination. The supplementary examination is the later sitting for students who failed one or more papers, or who missed the annual examination. Boards also call it the second annual examination. A roll number belongs to one of those sittings.

Question 5

What is a result card and what is a gazette?

Accepted Answer

A result card is the mark sheet for one roll number. It lists the subjects, the marks, and whether the candidate passed or failed. A gazette is the board’s full result list for that examination, usually a PDF in which you can search the same roll number. The result card on the board website is the individual result.

Question 7

Which result do Gilgit-Baltistan students use?

Accepted Answer

Schools in Gilgit-Baltistan currently sit the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education examination. Their matric and intermediate results are on the FBISE result page. A separate Gilgit-Baltistan board website is not published.

Question 8

Why does a roll number show no result?

Accepted Answer

The usual reasons are a different board, the wrong year, annual selected when the paper was supplementary, or Part I selected when the roll number is for Part II. The result also stays unavailable until that board has announced the examination. Use the roll number slip, which names the board and the examination.
